World book day has been a huge success! Riversdale has been buzzing with a love of books and reading. Students and teachers alike have been reading their favourite books and sharing book recommendations. In this morning's Key Stage 2 assembly, the children learnt why book day is important and listened to each other talk about their favourite books. Here are some quotes from Year 5 students about the assembly:
“If you don't know many books, you get to learn about others.”
Harry – World Book of Animals
“I liked listening to other people’s recommendations.”
Rytis – Spirit of the Jungle
“The assembly gave you a chance to communicate with others about a book that excites you.”
Deya – The Midnight Gang
“We got to learn about what other people like to read and why.”
Warda – Grandpa’s Great Escape
“We had the chance to get to know others better, by listening to them talk about their favourite books.”
Arezki – Bodyguard: Ransom
Amethyst class also had a wonderful surprise as one of their students, Warda, made each of her class mates a book mark for the occasion! Outstanding effort and kindness!
