Attendance and punctuality are inextricably linked to a child’s educational progress.
The attendance target for each child is 97%. In some extenuating circumstances this target may not be possible, but for the majority of the school this target is attainable. Ofsted expect every school to have a combined attendance greater than 96.1%and will not accept any reason for attendance being less than this.
We expect all children to attend school every day and to be in the playground at the start of the day. Periods of absence and poor punctuality are disruptive to the children’s learning and send poor messages about the value of education. We ask parents to support us in ensuring their children do not miss out through unnecessary absences.
