Dear Parents and Carers,
Today marks my first day as Interim Headteacher, and I would like to begin by thanking you for the support, trust, and partnership you continue to show the school. This is a community with a strong sense of purpose and identity, and it is a privilege to lead it during this period of transition. My aim is to provide stability and clarity so that pupils, staff, and the wider community feel secure, supported, and confident in Riversdale’s direction.
Over the coming months, my leadership will be centred on ensuring that the quality of teaching and learning remains consistently high across the school. I will be working closely with staff to consolidate our strengths and refine our practice, with a clear focus on every child achieving their full potential.
Inclusion and wellbeing will remain at the heart of everything we do. Our school serves a diverse community, and it is essential that every child and every family feels valued and supported. I will continue to promote an environment where individual needs are understood, where children feel safe to take risks in their learning, and where staff wellbeing is recognised as central to sustaining high-quality teaching. A nurturing, values-led approach underpins the culture of this school, and I am committed to strengthening that further.
Your engagement plays an important role in shaping our next steps. The recent parent voice survey has provided thoughtful and constructive feedback, and I would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond. Your insights are already shaping our thinking, and we will continue to use parent, pupil, and staff voice to guide improvements in the months ahead. Finding the right balance between these perspectives is essential, and I am committed to a transparent approach that values the experience and expertise each group brings.
As I take up this role, my overarching commitment is to serve the school and its community with integrity, ambition, and care. I am looking forward to working in partnership with you and ensuring that the school continues to be a place where all children feel known, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.
